It's that time of the year again

I may not update often but at least I am consistenly sporadic in my blogging, here's some drawings:

Coal miners, some drawn from photos some not drawn from photos.

factories and workers, research drawings for third year film.

A stylish man from the 70s or something, drawn from a photo I found intriguing. Who knows where those worn hands of his have been, who knows.

Trying to draw with a brush pen, The guerilla-luchador guy is my favourite.

Feeding time at the food court.

More food court residents

Who knows what on page left, animation class on page right.

A potatoish little man and design drawings of things to come, things which are smokey and mean.

Giant army violinist and poor-ass kids, drawings from photos

Update number: three, Amazing!

I haven't completely forgotten about updating this blog, hopefully my next update won't be like 3 months apart or however long this one is. Here's some drawings I did in the last few days or weeks or so, they will be ordered chronologically in honour of our useless friend that has so much control over us, time. So this is drawing #1.

Arrows in the chest probably hurt I assume, I don't know why this guy is in such shock, he's fighting in a war or something, what did he expect would happen?

Drawings from life of people at a local picnic thing featuring lots of funny looking people.

This was drawn randomly from a picture in the newspaper of some girl in tights wasting good milk by pouring it on the ground, I don't know why exactly, maybe she's lactose intolerant.

On the bottom are some random drawings of whatever and on the top is a drawing of a man drowning in a lake sorrounded by houses and factories.

This is my guitar, it sucks but it'll keep me busy until the day that I can afford to buy a good one. It has only sentimental value.

This is my sister, I'm not sure why she was wearing that samurai get-up. I'm just glad she didn't slice me up for scewing up that jawline line.

Niagra Falls is a place with lots of water, motels, strip clubs and the burger king. Quite possibly the most overated tourist attraction ever.

I am a Drawer, Drawers are for things

That's right, uh huh, I'm taking some initiative and updating for an incredible second time. That's good for me. These are some drawings I did over the last few days that I think some of you might find amusing, for whatever reasons. They're mostly drawings done from some kind of reference, but exegerated, a little, I find it difficult to figure out the point to where something can be caricatured before it doesn't look like what it originally did. I've been attempting to get better at this as I have a tendency to just draw things realistically, so I've been trying to find ways to caricature things but still retain some of the details and subtlety of more realistic drawings.
These are some magazine girls, I like the way the cheeky one lying down came out, and Randeep beeing eaten by someone, he probably tastes spicy, why? oooh I don't know :P
These are some gentlemen drawn from a book of tatoos, tatoos are hard to simplify, I learnt that.
This a penciley drawing of some old time lady from a photo, it's not very cartoony at all, I was trying to get better at rendering things with a pencil but I think it turned out too flat and the values not so controlled in some areas.
These are drawings of characters from movies, The Piano and Oh Brother Where art Thou, babyface nelson and such, fun characters, I enjoyed doing these drawings, it feels a bit like life drawing to draw from a film but with more interesting models.

First post in blog thing.

Here are some pictures from my sketchbook, mostly to do with the development of some beak and muzzle character for a lip sync animation thing. I don't have the actual finished character sheets scanned, I'll post them them up in a few weeks probably. Lets just say that doing work until 5 am results in making some pretty dumb decisions.
I'll have to figure out a better way to scan this stuff, it looks ugly.

Oh and this is a little digital painting of some kind of street, I thought it turned out ok considering the time spent on it.
